The Doctoral School is of key importance because it produces the first researchers and scientific workers prepared in UET. In addition, the Doctoral School offers scientific guidance for doctoral candidates and adapts the research work of the pedagogic staff according to specific research directions.
In collaboration with its three constituent Faculties, the Doctoral School in UET has structured scientific research and oriented scientific research work of the doctoral candidates towards to a major research direction (MRD) and specific research axes. The Doctoral School Research Direction is a project which within a three year timeframe aims to achieve at least three objectives:
First, to produce international-level expertise in a particular field and turn UET in a constant source of knowledge and advice both for the academic community and third actors.

Second, to increase professionally (vertically) the academic and research staff of UET, within their expertise and areas of scientific interest. This conception of research work differs from traditional training of researchers with the wide range of literature and various problems and issues of the discipline in which every one of us works and teaches. Through concept research, through research directions and axes, we intend to create specializations and continuous deepening of the staff and doctorate community in UET.

Last, the establishment of a research community-or several communities- which constantly interact with one another in view of the most spot-on and plausible findings and analysis. Research in the Doctoral School is an integral part of Scientific Research in the European University of Tirana and the highest degree of individual research work, assisted by the staff of lecturers and researchers in UET. But, as much as the doctoral thesis or dissertation is the final step of the graduate’s work, consequently supervised by professors, it is also the first step of every graduate's academic career. With this in mind, the mentoring we provide to our doctoral candidates is multifaceted: starting with the individual work of each candidate with his supervisor, the participation and presentations of the candidate’s works before the teachers and other doctoral candidates
